The journey begins

 August 4th:  After weeks of delays we finally got our R.V. loaded and ready  to travel for the next year!  On May 20th Dana and I decided to retire, sell our home and most of our furniture and set up for a year long adventure in our 43 foot Newmar Dutchstar! On June 17th we flew to Oregon to pick up our very first R.V.  We traveled 1900 miles in 5 days from Oregon to Ankeny where we picked up our 3 grandkids.Next we drove them to Kansas City to begin the process of selling our belongings and closing on the house.  We closed on July29th but had taken the R.V. in for maintenamce and found out that there was a recall!  Two weeks later and a week after we closed on the house we finally got the R.V.  The inbetweeen story is that we hadn't gotten a  chance to load the R.V. of our belongings and needed to move in with Ashley in her one bedroomk apartment.  Yes, DAna, myself, the grandkids, our dog Duke and Ashley!!!!!!Once we got the R.V. and loaded it it was 7:30 at night so our first destination was a compground (if you want to call it that) 9 miles away from our home. It was a glorified parking lot. The first 3 weeks will be in the midwest with 3 of our grandchildren and then we set off ofr the badlands!  I will try to post updates and pictures at least once a week!  If we are near you please reach out!  We will be towing a jeep behind us so we can come visit!!!Stay tuned!!!
